Magical Tree Houses in a Rainbow of Colors

24 Feb

A tree house calls to the child that still lives inside our adult mind.  They are places of wonder, seclusion, and everyday life made special all at once.  I had a treehouse growing up, and we spent hours upon hours carrying water up the ladder so we could “wash dishes”, and we loved it.

Tree houses for children still dot various neighborhoods, but some adults don’t want to leave all the fun for kids.  Here are some magical tree houses that I found created with grown ups in mind.

I love the bold colors these tree houses wear, if you are looking for rich colors that “wear like iron”, look no further than Old Village Paints acrylic, oil, stain and clear varnishes. Click on the images below if you’d like to explore these amazing paints!

Is there anything worse than investing time and money into an outdoor project, and then noticing weather damage, peeling paint or unprotected wood curling or bending? Our paints are well known for their protective and long-lasting qualities!

“We painted our house with Old Village Paint 26 years ago and it was so easy to use. It really did go on like butter. When we sold our house the paint still looked so good the buyers asked us if we had just painted! We told them “No we used Old Village Paint 26 years ago!” Your paint is wonderful! Now we have moved and we won’t use anything else. Thank you for making such a quality product.” Carla Gerdes, Bucks County, PA

Welcome in 2018 With Fresh Green Colors

25 Dec

How do you welcome the new year in your home? Do you enjoy gathering with certain people, eating a special meal, rearranging furniture?

Once the new year is here I breathe a deep breath in. I am thankful I made it through the many events that surround the holidays and that we’re moving into a more peaceful month.  I also like to re-arrange furniture– just something to recognize I can start new things or introduce new patterns of being into my life.

To celebrate a brand new 365 days this year on the blog, I thought we’d look at a color that often means newness or growth– green!

Old Village Paints makes a number of different greens, including:

Here are a few of them in use:

Consider throwing open a window, airing out a room, and putting a fresh coat of paint on the walls.  It can be a wonderful way to make an old space feel new, and invite some new things into your life!

Buttermilk Painted Bar Stools in Wild Bayberry

12 Oct

Living in Lavender Home of Enumclaw, Washington shares:

“I’m testing out a new line of products from Old Village Paint Co. out of Pennsylvania. I’m impressed with the buttery application of the Buttermilk Paint and the gorgeous sheen of the Gel Wood Stain which carries a small amount of poly in it!”

These little SADDLE STOOLS are painted in Wild Bayberry. The edges are lightly distressed and the paint is topped with an application of … Dark Brown … Wax and buffed to a soft matte sheen. The seats were sanded to bare wood and stained.”

I love this wild bayberry color, and the gorgeous flowers peaking around the stools in this photo. We hear quite often from folks that the first time they use Old Village Paints, they can’t believe how thick and creamy the paint is to work with.  Thanks for another stellar review! We believe in a high quality product and incredible customer service! You can check out Living in Lavendar Home on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/livinginlavenderhome/They specialize in: Hand Painted Furniture and Home Decor, Hand-Crafted Lavender Products, Fresh (in season) and Dried Lavender Bouquets, Buds and Culinary Buds.  Beautiful stuff!
